Court Day
We had our term of voodoo court in the Tombigbee Circuit last week. It's always satisfying to do my thang in a voodoo courtroom; it makes me feel all necessary, you know?

These were my adversaries...they might look like squares, but don't let 'em fool you, they are as round as they come. They had powerful medicine of their own, that's why my client needed me so bad.

The question was "Who stole the giant's scissors?"

This is me arguing to the jury...note the pirate in the front row, my one eyed jack in the hole, so to speak...

These are the spectators, watching my closing arguments...

sometimes I invoked love...

Sometimes wonder...

And sometimes I made 'em laugh...

These folks got married during a break...

They seemed so happy together, we all smiled for them.

Meanwhile, the jury stayed out for hours, we didn't know what they were doing back there...

It all ended in a Tie, which is ok.

Voodoo Judges

People write in and ask, "What kinda judges do you have in a voodoo courtroom?" Well, here's one now, this is Judge Silva, he's been a voodoo judge for as long as anyone can recall. Don't let that sweet face fool ya, he remembers everything and he's tough as nails. The old fellow holding him is the court reporter, who acts as the clerk too.

Big Trial Coming Up

We gotta big voodoo trial coming up soon, please don't spread it around, but I plan to use the old "hand jive" defense...Johhny Otis is gonna loan me his suit, and the Three Tons of Joy are lined up for my opening statement...I'll keep y'all posted as it goes.
(Don't quit before you see Lionel Hampton, he's intrigued with the Hand Jive.)
Friday Night Prison Concert

The gals in the Itawamba County Ladies Jail been writing in begging for more Johnnie Taylor...also, they send their love to Jody.. The censors took away "These Last Two Dollars", so dig this while you can. As your attorney, I strongly advise you to watch this over and over and dance while you do so...
